Puzzle games that make a commute vanish
A good commute puzzle game has two jobs: load instantly and let you stop anytime. Nobody wants a thirty-second splash screen when the train's already pulling in.
Lantern Hollow is my current favorite in this space, even though it's more adventure than pure puzzle. The challenges reward looking around carefully, and you can put it down mid-thought without losing anything.
If you want something tighter, look for games with discrete levels rather than one big sprawling map. They're easier to dip into for a single stop. And always test them offline before you rely on them — a shocking number of 'puzzle' apps won't even open without a signal.
My advice: keep two or three installed with different vibes. Some mornings you want sharp logic, some evenings you just want something soft. Variety keeps the commute from feeling like a chore.
