Emberfall Chronicles
★★★★★ 4.7
Emberfall Chronicles is the kind of RPG that respects your time. Turn-based combat, a readable skill tree, and a map you uncover piece by piece. Everything downloads up front, so once it's installed you never need a connection again — I played most of it on a ferry with zero signal.
The writing is better than it has any right to be on mobile. Choices actually shift how characters treat you, and a couple of mid-game decisions stuck with me for days. Battles stay interesting because enemies punish lazy tactics, and the difficulty curve is fair.
If you miss old-school portable RPGs, this scratches that itch. It's long, it's generous, and it saves often so you never lose progress mid-commute.
